2D ANIMATION HELP

well hi there, i am upto creating a simple animation of an old alarm (analogue) clock... the animation shows that the minute stick and hour stick are both initially are 12 and then when it is 5:00 the alarm starts ringing. NOTE that it is just animation, not alarm system or application.

i wanted to show the alarm clock vibrates in some cartoonic manner. the rings (aobve the clock) vibrate and even they keep on changing their size!
please do let me know shall i change the RING shape into MOVIE CLIP or GRAPHICS

INSHORT:
1- Rings vibrate
2- rings change their sizes while they are vibrating

I don't do Flash but my sister is awesome at it, so I asked her on irc and her response was:

<Darqx> why dont they just make a separate movie clip of the bells with the bells vibrating and changing size and then in the clock movieclip/graphic at the frame/s where the clock strikes 5 they put the animated bells mc on a different layer

Hope you can do something with that smile.gif

ryivhnn's suggestion sounds like what I would do. I'm pretty sue you need a separate layer for each movie clip because the program won't understand what yo uare aiming for if you have 2 MC's doing there own thing on the same layer.

As for movie clip vs graphic, I think graphics will allow you all the same options, but will also allow you to slide back and forth on the timeline and see your nested MC's in action. It only works if you have a moving movie clip within the graphic, which doesn't sound like what you are going for here.

Man Flash sounds complicated. And my sister insists on telling me that 3d is complicated! XD
