Despite the fact that I agree with mark lol, he certainly knows what he is talking about, and makes a very good argument, with which I can't help to disagree with. It kinda looks like he is about to cry at the end lol...Thanks for the share breaker! happy.gif

Note for Breaker: I took the link you posted and embedded it into the forum: All you have to do is take the "zORv8wwiadQ" from the url "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zORv8wwiadQ" and use the following BB code like so:

I mean it all makes sense - very logicical, but I never sat down and analyzed it. This just puts it in a very visually understandable way.

But none the less no one hardly does until someone brings it up like he does.

1. Why is it hypothetical?
2. The world could be much more worse in just 50 years, when will it be too late to stop? We cant wait forevero?
3. Please name them and tell me why they are more important.

you have arguments but nothing to back it up with, give us background information and this discussion will be more interesting biggrin.gif I've both seen Al Gore's video and heard from great scientist who came forward a month ago or something here in EU and they had real evidence that this is not just bogus as the one who is against it says.

And another argument (if we skip the part about global warming and everything else): Why should we destroy the nature in the first place? The humanity have invested a lot of money to make use of the nature every way possible, the money hasn't dissapeared so obviosly there is money we could use for the better, argue against why we should NOT use money to develop new things which is good for both human and mother nature?

I have to agree with kman only because I see where he is coming from.

Are any one of us gonna change our habits? No.

In the US for example my ONLY form of transportation is a car. There is no public transportation outside the city like you would find in the rest of Europe so that is immediately out of the question.

We all have plenty of things we can simply not avoid unless we all feel like reverting back to the stone age. The whole environment issue will fix itself. The only thing we as a people need to do is to put enough time and effort (in the form of academic studies and such) into making sure that within a few dozen years we have none polluting ways of creating energy.

While, not many of us will not make a difference, or a change in our actions after seeing this video. It certainly does instill some sort of impact in all of us, and creates awareness. Clearly what he presented is completely logical, but really in truth, how many of us took the time to analyze the situation like he did....Here is an example:

Why are we here, on this earth?

The above question is such a vital one to any human being, but how many people ask themselves this question, if so how often? And even if one asks themselves this question often, what are you doing to find out the truth.

did we get here from some ridiculous theory like the "Big Bang" or do we have a purpose, or mission in this world?

I guess this guy wants attention :>
He knows to present facts so you believe it, just like scientists. Just remember where scientists get the money from. Either from the government (there is no climate change) or from the opponents of the government (there is a BIIIG climatechange). And who do people believe? It's the same as with all those conspiracies on 9/11. People believe such things.
I think reality is between these two sides. There is something to happen and I guess we should do something against it. But to raise the awereness brings NOTHING. Everybody who's watching this video should already know that there's a problem and we should change it...but we won't because we had to change many small things in our life. Maybe it wouldn't be worse but just unusual...and we're too lazy to change something.

Here in germany there are ad-campaigns from TV broadcasters for a better world...stop the climate change...blah blah blah. And when people are watching this they think they've done enough for the rescue of the world. Then they go to sleep without turning the lights off in the livingroom and they let all their electronic stuff on "standby".

I can tell you this much: stunting technological innovation as a result of stunted (read: regression) economic output will only leave us in the fossil fuel age longer. I'm not saying we should stop exploring clean energy. All I'm saying is that technological innovation is a by product of 'extra time'. It's the most basic thing in economics. You first meet your basic needs: food, clothing, dwelling. Then you go out and handle everything else. Africa is an example of countries who spend so much time handling basic needs that they can't do anything else (I think the figure is north of 50% of all time people in food production). In the United States in contrast (quoting econ professor here), 2% of the population is somehow involved in food production which means the other 98% can do something else.

My general point is there are only two choices for humanity:
1) We go back to an agricultural economy and keep the population at a steady maximum by only allowing 1 child per 1 adult (2 children per couple).
2) We continue our current path and either succeed or fail.

End Result:
1) Human race is extinct after an extinction level planet wide disaster (Sun swells to red giant, asteroid crashes, w/e)
2) We either master all of the universe or die trying. wink.gif

I'll take #2 please.
