Fresh new Skins....

Hey everyone,
Would like to announce a beautiful new skin with 11 colors, that has been perfected in all browsers from what I see. After a little beating on IE, it couldn't help but to render this beautiful skin as perfect as it should

This is great to set it as a welcome option for the new artician members after launching this baby on the air. Estimated time of the day of my heart attack please ???? way to go ve1n and I just noticed that the quick edit button still doesn't work...any thoughts about it ??

We are very close to launch fella's, only a few more features to complete, and move to the new servers, then we snap our fingers and viola, artician will be stampeded by crowds of anxious designers and artists....

When that happens, you guys better no get drowned out after the crowds are in here!

hey...I wanna make a banner and some styles for a new skin too ( whenever I have the time) what are the size/formats requirements for this ???? maybe some bryce renders with brushwork and something new to feed my ego and add content to the artician features

@ breaker: Ah, thanks..Well technically there are no size constraints. The banner will not stretch the page since it's a background image, however... we try to keep the banner size under 980px width so it fits in all browser resolutions. You will notice with this new skin, the background image is 990px, but there is a solid color behind the banner and it fades in - this way if someone is using a large resolution the banner wont just get cut off, but rather it will blend into the solid color that is filling up the container...

Here is an example. In the following image, I changed the background color behind the banner so you can see that it does get cut off....



however in the skin I use a solid color that matches the banner....



To answer your question....
If you want to make a fixed width banner that is similar to the ones on other other skins that doesn't stretch 100% like this skin does then keep it around 920px, if you plan to make a banner that can stretch just make sure one of the sides can fade into a solid color so it won't just get cut off or looks strange.

As far as height, it never matters the height for a banner, but use your imagination. What I mentioned above is very technical....If you just want to keep it simple, make a banner however you want, and we will make it work!

not sure if its the just public computer i'm on, but i just realized that when i select the dromewire skin from the dropdown list, i dont get the option of what color skin i want to use. Also, the preview picture doesnt load, and I cant select the dromewire skin for use.

Same issue for me. I'm assuming Eric is aware.
