Hello, I am just wondering how long it takes you to create the art that you produce? I am just curious. I know that I work VERY fast, from conception stage to the finished product, actually often I can have a finished product in just a couple of hours. Then, there are those other paintings that sometimes take weeks for me to do! LOL! I think the general rule of thumb is that digital is fast, and traditional takes more time. In digital we do not have to wait for the paint to dry, and set up, and etc. So let me know your thoughts.

Man, that´s for me very variating. It depends, as you mention, a lot on what kind of art I´m doing. I actually find myself spending a lot more time on my photographies than my digital art, without any solid reason. Might just be because I feel more comfortable working with digital art, and a lot of it comes down to practice and routines (escpecially when working with photoshop.)

I've had some pieces that spring into life in minutes, while others represent dozens of hours (often spread out over a period of years). When it is complete, it just 'feels' right. Of course it also helps that I do not have deadlines. -------- "Art is never finished, only abandoned." -(Leonardo da Vinci)

It depends, but generally anywhere between two to five hours, occasionally longer. Quicker things such as my Piper drawing takes only a short time where as Grace took several hours from concept to completion. It depends on the level of detail and so on.

if i have a vision of how i want it done it usually takes an hour or two. i think pre meditating on the peice of art you wanna do makes it go by faster.

depends one what i'm painting, a landscape can take anywhere from 6 hours to 3 days, and then some.. where is a character or creature can take within 1-3 hours to days sometimes, while manipulations, photography etc. is over the course of a few hours, a day at most. also depends on the client, if its a big client, and they're paying a fair bit, i'll put a lot more into it, not to say i dont try for less financially benefiting clients, but theres certainly a difference.

I can usually get a piece done in a day. Meaning that I start and then continue with few breaks until it is finished. I find that when I stop in the middle of the piece, I don't finish it. I have a hard time coming back to it.

It varies a lot. Sometimes I spend weeks on a single piece, and others I finish in about..15 minutes? Though I must say, I take a lot of breaks when making a bigger piece. So I really could finish it much faster, it's just that I don't have the concentration to work on a piece for long. Which is probably best, sometimes you'll notice more and get better ideas when you take a good ammount of breaks.

Well varies from 15 minutes to one month for me lol

Several hours is good enough for me to sprout a creation, but my art doesn't really have the equivalent art quality with the time taken.

Depends on what I'm doing, but it does take me a couple of days though. Digital pieces do take me a bit longer. I am trying to get myself to be a bit faster though.

It depends on the piece, photography I'm in out and done, well I guess it's snap, minor editing if any and post. Some of my paintings, days to years, I have a piece I've been working off and on for 3-4 years. I just cannot stop working on it, and then I set it down, leave it and tell myself it is done, I pull it back out and work on it again.

EEEK jeez i gotta work more then.... my pieces take somewhere between 10 mins and 50 mins at most lol

I've actually never timed my stuff. Usually I just start somthing, keep working on it untill I'm sick of it than dont touch it for a couple of hours or somtimes even weeks and then do the same thing again. But photography goes faster for me, it's usually just some post processing.

never less than 5 hours but can be up to and over a month... I have one floating around now I've been tinkering on for almost 2 months now and it's no where near being halfway done, but if I get a new idea and act on it right away I'll lose track of time usually and get it done between 5 -10 hours...sadly many rough copys and stetches get torn up and scratched out in fustration but for some reason it makes it more fun

I go back and forth like some kind of design bi-polar effect. I can conceptualize and design something within 3-4 hours, but if it doesn't fit the mold I originally wanted, it could take me an extra few days to clean it up.
