Everything except for the blinds I am going to build so it will be much cheaper. All furniture is going to be black pine and stainless steel. Tell me what you guys think, and any recommendations.

Oh no @Eric I am currently building a dresser/ entertainment center. I do not have all that much to be folded other than socks and boxers. So I will combine them. I eventually will do a desk, but I don't know what do for a desk. Just so you guys know I have yet to start this so those are just things I am modeling after. The dresser is going to be a little different as far as building materials go. The outside will be black pine just like the bed, and the drawers and the sliding door will be made of treated plywood with stainless steel handles. I have a drawing I made, its very rough but It gives you the general idea even though the colors are reversed. (I had planned on it to be the other way)

I think short curtains instead of blinds would be much more appropriate
Good luck tho, this looks like an incredibly time involved and yet a project with tangible rewards.

Chef, blinds fold up and down (ie: the picture you posted of yours), and sometimes side to side. Curtains are just pieces of material that hang there. Most you can slide left to right to see out/in the window.

Looks extremely nice but expensive!
Love the bed and the lights indeed. I'm not that much into simplicity though, I like it messy and cosy. But however I love the combination!

Sure looks stylish dude! A room like that would be a bit to white for me though, within a week there would be food stains everywhere.

Thanks guys and actually it isn't that expensive to build as most of it I am building myself. The light I have already made it it cost me $20. The bed is really nothing more than heavily polished painted black pine. The dresser is the same deal + plywood so this really is a fairly cheap project just time consuming. With all of the materials I need to build this stuff + 1/2 for mistakes it comes out to $895.33. As for the stains those pictures are not what I have made and so I really can choose my colors so what I am thinking is my comforter will be white like a newsprint on it or something. The rest will be black and red. My current blanket is a black moving blanket lol. So I am kinda going for the modern clean grunge look if that makes any sense.

All of those years of taking home improvement classes seem to pay off in the end.

I also have this really old lamp that I bought from goodwill yesterday. I have no camera (still *tear*) but it has a very scratched stainless steel finish and this hideous plad lamp top thing. Its looks very similar to this in shape.

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/a...re_1985_3622570

except with plad and stainless steel instead of wood. I bought it for $5 at good will and I am just going to use the same sheet that I am using for the ceiling light to replace the plad. (Ugh..) and I am going to have to polish the hell out of the steel to get it shiny again and to hide the scratches. Usually a lamp of this type costs anywhere from $100 and up no lie. So it just goes to show you that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and sometimes it takes some envisioning.

I made this desk myself, it's all crooked with rough cuts. Made it in like 1 hour. But it does the job. smile.gif
