Well, well they are both interesting, and different !
Drawing with a pencil really differs from "pixeling" tongue.gif
Pixeling is easier, and more reachable for people than traditional art in my opinion, but it depends on the kind of digital work though..
( I guess I prefer pixel )

Definatly paper. Don't feel free digitally. Stuck in the window. And much easier to do when it's directly and not through screen.

definately pencil and paper, digital art is good for some things, but pencil and paper are best for simply capturing my thoughts

Edit: oops, I just realized that was a necro post, sorry

I like a good mixture of both. I prefer pixel though only because I have more experience in it. Recently however, I have been combining my works on paper with my digital works.

I have a lot of respect for who made traditional artworks, but since I'm a noob i'm sticking with pixel, doing sketches on paper.

My favorite tool:
Adobe Illustrator Rocks 4ever!

BTW, I can't vote. I click on a choice and when I click "vote" I got a message:

"You did not choose a poll choice to vote against. Please go back and ensure you click on one of the radio buttons next to the choice you wish to vote for"

I got that same error message.
Although it's probably just as well 'cause I am having THE hardest time figuring it out. I consider oekaki to be a great sketching tool ... and then I'll take that sketch and blow it up in photoshop and go over it and change things around. Very fluid and efficient. Some of my best drawings have come that way.

But then other things need a totally different more outlined feel and that's when I go to pen an paper. ... I gotta draw just to release even if it's just scribbling. I use pen, no pencil, a very fluid pen, and I love how it feels,,, like any line I make can totally ruin my picture ONLY if I allow it to. There is no right or wrong and if I do something I perceive as a "screw up" I can just go with it instead of *immediately* hitting control-z and never allowing myself to see where that smudge would have taken me.

Also though, I've tried drawing some of my oekaki/photoshop characters in pen, and those guys have always looked horrible without color. And then vise versa, I'd hate how my pen drawings look fleshed out. Two different worlds....

Then with photomanip and most of what I do for work I just jazz it out, bring in some pictures and see how things feel. Guess that's why I'm not into vector so much... too much planning needed there.

Paper all the way. I feel like with pencil skills as a foundation, you see things with digital work that you wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

For words: Paper...of course. But seeing as how I *fail* at drawing and painting...the digital realm is where I usually express myself.

My feeling is that the digital world has severely increased the ability that artists have to express themselves. The creative mind of the world is exploding thanks to the internet. ^.^

Haha crazy photoshoppers. It's funny that you think of undo as "CTRL+ALT+Z" when 99.9% of programs use CTRL+Z. That kinda annoys me actually. Whenever (rarely) that I find myself in Photoshop I keep finding that hitting the alt is a very uncomfortable maneuver.

I use my thumb for ALT, my pinkie for CTRL and My index finger for the Z. It works, and I'm even on a laptop.
