First, Let me welcome you to Artician. We have been getting a lot of bug reports within the past few weeks that has had minimal information about their problem/bug that we have had a very hard time debugging. Due to us going out of our way to figure out certain information regarding a user, we waste time looking for stuff a user should have provided to us initially. Bugs are tricky things, they are sometimes only restricted to a small set of users, or limited to a group of users. We never know unless we get as much details as possible about the bug and the user. I will list below what questions should be answered in every bug report so we can get those nasty bugs dealt with in a timely manner.
- What operating system you are using? (including version)
- What browser you are using? (including the version)
- How do we reproduce the bug? (including steps)
- Provide any screen shots (if needed; design issues should include them)
Here are some things you should try before submitting a bug report:
- Try to disable your firewall. Firewalls sometimes conflict with certain browsers and websites. (MacOSX has some issues at the moment)
- Disable any extensions that may be blocking something on the site (such as adblock, or noscript on Firefox)
- Disable your anti-virus or protection software and make sure cookies are not being blocked
This post will be updated in the future with more tips.- KnightAR
