Xbox Live Customer Support - the WORST customer support, period.

So today I checked my bank account, and I found that xbox live had charged me for another month of xbox live - cool because I already canceled that subscription and entered my code for the 13 month subscription i got for christmas.

So I call xbox live customer support and told them I wanted my refund because having 14 months of xbox live on my acocunt is fucking retarted since i already have 13.. I don't even know if I'll be playing xbox live at the end of the 13 months I already have. Easy right? NOPE - because they are retarted.. and their "customer service experts" are a few thousand miles away from me in india.

The first person I talked to told me it was impossible for them to refund me my money for the account, because they don't do refunds. After explaining the situation to the guy and arguing for about 20 minutes, I got absolutely nowhere. So i asked to talk to a manager.

When the manager gets on the line (also indian, and hard to understand), I have to explain the whole situation to her again. She tells me that they can in fact refund my money for me (thanks for lying to me person 1), but it will cancel my 13 month subscription and I won't get a refund for that. WHAT THE FUCK!!??! So i tell her that doesn't work for me and I want my damn money back right now. After another half hour on the phone with her, I get nowhere once again. So i tell her i'm calling my bank and doing a stop payment on the transition. She tells me that it will cancel my 13 month subscription that my family just paid $40 for.. Thanks a fucking lot assholes.



$8. Not a big deal right? Wrong. I'm a college student, I don't have a job over christmas break, I'm already short on cash, and trying my hardest to make what I have last me until I get the next student loan check for tuition and living. The bottom line is it's bullshit. If these fuckers can get away with doing this to me and the most likely thousands and thousands of other people who have had to deal with this, MICROSOFT IS ROBBING PEOPLE OF MILLIONS EACH YEAR. Fuck them.

I'm done supporting microsoft. I'm not buying anymore of their products, i'm never buying another xbox live subscription, i'm switching to playstation, and i'm going to do my best to convince anyone I come into contact to not to support them as well. If any friends or family need microsoft office, any microsoft operating system, modded xboxs, burned xbox games, or any of the other goodies that microsoft makes, i'm going to be the first person to offer it to them. GG. Hopefully I can turn my $8 loss into a few thousand dollars loss for them. Even if they don't care, it's going to help me sleep better at night.

oh yea, and great marketing strategy losing billions on the xbox microsoft, FUCK YOU.

You can't cancel the payments on both?

Wouldn't that be a fraudulant charge?

Any way can you get ahold of the turd cutters over here in the states or are you stuck talking to outsourced employement?

I wish I could help but I'm not familier with xbox live. sad.gif Gamed on it but never actually dealt with paying for it.

Hey just to inform you, some more Microsoft Bullshit, if you read the terms of Microsoft Office, they say that Microsoft has the power to disable and ban you from the product at any time they wish, without need of cause. that mean that you are only renting the program that costs you money, and that they can just disable it at your expense! it happened to my friend at school a while ago, and then a computer geek friend of mine told me how it happened.... they are assholes at microsoft. EVIL assholes.

Strange how huge differences there can be on customer services, even in the same company.
I've had to deal with Microsoft on several occassion, both with Live and the need for a repair on my xbox.
All times they have been almost scaringly helpfull, sorting my problem without as much as a sigh.
Hell, I bet I could've talked them into paying ME …
