lol Well after looking at the piece I can see why there haven't been any replies yet. It's a pretty complicated one. Cool but very complicated.

It really kinda depends on where you're going with this one. Are you just trying to fill space now or are you still working on the concept?

Maybe since the title is " Constant Thought " you can have a seperate scene behind the character. Something contrasting the one in the foreground. and make sure you have the little cloud thingy going into the back of his head.

On the right track of where you wanna go? Hope so and hope this helps.

Good luck to ya big guy. Looks like it'll be a sweet piece when finished no matter what direction you take it in. smile.gif

thanks!! i appreciate the input..

kinda wondering how i could fit in like an "ABYSS" with damned souls crawling out from it.. like in the bottom corner... and maybe counter the evil with some heavenly skies... or go completely opposite.. with the abyss having souls falling from the sky and a heavenly kingdom in the bottom corner...

im struggling with the abyss concept.. because what i see in my mind cant be represented correctly on paper..
any input or reference for that would be helpful..

Ooooh, I know that feeling. Drawing the damned that represent your own darkness... hard topic to tackle. I'd say that if you're not sure then maybe stay away from the concept all together.

I like the other idea... maybe draw the same background BEHIND the figure as what's IN the figure... kind of like a repeating Esher idea. Maybe draw the same figure sitting under the tree with the same sort of 'cloud' effect coming/going from him. Try not to make it TOO repetitive though, use the same sort of figure without repeating it exactly. The same for the background behind him.

That's just another idea you can toy with though, if you want. The fun part of scanning things is that you can mess with them digitally to come up with an idea that you really like before taking it back to the paper to have that satisfying feeling of putting your thought on paper.

my tuppence worth - more depth to the background of the picture; break open the back of his head or perhaps fold it open (like a door) and show us the inner workings of his cranium.

You've gone into great detail with his arm but cut off his extremities - why not extend it to include and then have either the abyss you were after, being wrenched open with his hands, or crushing something it's ripped up out of said abyss.

Neat idea - and asking for finishing plans isn't something that had cross my mind before either - must try that some time =)

let me know when you finish it - I'm interested in seeing the finished product!
