What we were thinking for the emblem was something that can be put on a white background of a website and be hung on a black flag. We were thinking along the lines of a Cactuar from the final fantasy series wearing a Strawhat.

Well as some of you may know, im pretty close speaking terms with professional industry artists / concept artists / digital matte artists, and well a few days ago I spoke to Dylan Cole, and requested a interview with him -- He got back in touch and has accepted the interview and said that he has spare time around mid-november as he is working on a few titles at the moment.

So from now until early-November I have decided to turn this into a little thing for all your Artician members, If you'd like to visit here for more details on how you can put your questions to Dylan Cole himself, (and of course learn a bit more about him if you don't know who he is already!)

First thing that pops into one's mind is exposure, yeahp a piece that had several hundred views will get several thousand views in a matter of days, the question is who is viewing it? friends of course, maybe even family, and then? who are the other 20 30 thousand people? I had a couple of my DD's with the "print available" activated, did those sell?.....not a single one.
So are this thousands of people just wallpaper seeking freaks? will this exposure ever provide views and contacts with interesting people?
My guess its that DA its a bowl of soup the size of an ocean, that consists mainly of kitty snapshots, and poor manga spiced with millions of look at me vacation fotos, and good art its lost in the middle of all this. This is NOT a critique of the art form. It's simply personal oppinions stated to form a basis for a question.

I don't get anime. Or manga, really. I don't understand why soooo many people love it. I'm a HUGE comics fan so one would assume that manga is something I would feel a connection with, yet I don't. I have read numerous mangas, Ghost in the Shell, Domu, etc but I still prefer American/ European comics to manga. As for anime, I've watched a bit but I can't seem to connect with it the way I can with other animated movies/shows.

I think, for me, the biggest hurdle is that, to my eye, it all looks so similar. Perhaps this is due to my limited knowledge of the form but every manga artists looks pretty much like every other manga artist. Now, I admit the same could be said of comic artists however I can think of sever high-profile ones whose styles are hugely different from each other. As I said, this might just be due to the fact that I know a great deal more about comics than I do manga.

I can not place my finger on it exactly but I've never really completely enjoyed any manga I've read. So I'm asking you, the manga/ anime fans, to enlighten me. Explain to me what it is that you enjoy so much, what is it about the medium that speaks to you. This isn't some sort of test, or being a smart-ass on my part. I'm honestly curious and honestly wish to know. There is so much of it out there I feel I'm missing out, but I need to know which way to look at it.

(I was a vendor out there for several months.) The holiday season is coming soon enough & for a vendor, that's the time to be out selling your handcrafted stuff. The problem is I work at a department store & holiday season is when it does major business also. The bosses will ask everyone to put in extra hours in the weeks before Xmas--that's a given. But I don't want to be there any more than I have to--I wanna be at the market & on S. Congress for First Thursdays, ferchrissakes! My loyalty is to my business, not to corporate America. But if my boss turns hardassed, it may be my job or my business. I may have a decision to make.

So what should I do when that question comes up? I know what I want to do, but economic necessity is something we all deal with. Any constructive advice would be appreciated.

Man gets "God" tattoo in Denton, skips out on bill

DENTON, Texas (AP) -- God might not be the only one passing judgment on a man who skipped out on paying $200 for a religious tattoo at a Denton parlor.

Denton police are investigating a nonpayment complaint filed by a tattoo artist who inscribed "Only God can judge me" on a customer's arm.

The Denton Record-Chronicle reported Thursday that the artist finished the work, which included a pair of praying hands, and presented the bill.

The customer Monday offered a credit card, which was declined, then he ran out of the store.

I am relatively new to artician (I signed up about 2 months ago but have never really gotten around to seriously checking out the site), and am wondering if anyone would be willing to critique some of my work. I am pretty much self taught in everything art wise since I never really held an interest for anything art related until recently, and would really appreciate some in site from some of my fellow articiians.

Please note that there are only a few writing pieces up on my portfolio for the moment, but I do plan on adding some other mediums as I get a little better. I am currently exploring my (severely outdated) photoshop CS2 and trying out a few different things. Any and all advise in any area is extremely welcomed as I try and broaden my artistic horizons.

1. The sound of metal scraping against metal, like a knife against a knife
2. Having dirty feet touch a soft fabric, usually after walking outside barefoot
3. A pencil less than incredibly sharp if I'm writing with it - I can't use anything other than a mechanical pencil unless I sharpen the pencil every couple minutes. Drawing and sketching is fine, though.
4. Ugly web design, especially if the content of the site is otherwise good. It's very off putting
5. Puke green ( only shade of green I don't like, which is my favorite color: disliking a shade of my favorite color makes the shade seem even worse lol )

I'm sitting here, knee deep in scraps as I try to construct a Godot mask for the upcoming Anime Convention here in Dallas, Tx.

It'll be my first one ever, I wonder if people here have ever gone to one, what did they did, how it went, ect.

Hello all, I'm one of the first Scouts you will see here at Artician,
This topic is basically to introduce the new Artician Scouts, and provide you a little insist as to what we do!.

Artician Scouts are here to seek out talented piece's of work that the Artician Members upload on a daily basis, Our role is to "Scout" such a piece and put it up for the Feature Que in which upon administration decision the suggested feature will then be either accepted or denied. We are also here to encourage, guide and help the community of Artician, So if you need any advice or support drop us a Message!.

Aims?
Our aims are to provide a more quality Artician Gallery and moderate the content that goes through it, By reporting such works that we feel are against our Rules we will have a much cleaner Artician Gallery, We also correct the Gallery's by moving certain pieces of work that are not in the correct gallery, into its respective gallery.
We are also here to provide recognition to the brilliant artist's that we scout at Artician, by putting they're work up for Feature.

I encourage anyone out there, that if you have spotted a good piece of art, and you feel it deserves to be Featured.
Then please drop me a message and I will see to it that if it is a quality piece, We will get it featured.
