Fedora?

Hey, I've recently been reading more into the open source Linux based operating system called Fedora, and I am intrigued. I have a lot of questions those, so hopefully someone here is familiar with many aspects of operating systems as I am not -is ashamed- so I need some help. Basically I run Windows XP, so first I would like to know how hard is the 'transition' to Fedora? Also, will all my files easily transfer and things of that nature? Will I have a choice to run Fedora or XP when I start my computer? Also, it is open source; are there many modifications such as 'skins' for it and other customizable options available across the web? Are there any alternatives that you find more interesting then Fedora?

I believe that is all for now, again thanks to anyone who can help out, as it is much appreciated. I am interested in straying away from XP a bit and I love open source software.

Need Help: Find A Non-Costly Graphics Tablet

I'm looking for a good graphics tablet that works very well with different types of software, but not as costly as other graphic tablets. So far I've found the Wacom Bamboo and the Bamboo Fun, and I have seen different programs that can work alongside them and am thouroughly impressed, but I want to expand on that with other types of tablets so that I don't leave anything out.

Is there anyway that I could download a copy of Windows XP (64 Bit Preferred) for free, since I am a student. I want this to be done legally, and since I believe most of us are students someone is bound to know of something. I need this for a class, in which I will need to find exploits in XP, Vista, and OS X (Newer Versions Only). So this is not exactly a cheap task.

Hey, I think this is right place to post this although this might go under hardware as well.

Thing is, I'm getting my Fujitsu t4220 this week and I'm gonna be mostly using it for Photoshop so I was wondering how to set up my scratch disks. Since I don't have an option of having a dedicated hard drive on the laptop for a scratch disk I was wondering I should set up one of the memory card reader slots as a dedicated scratch disk, and would it be faster then using a single partitioned hard drive. This tablet has following card readers:

Type I/II PCMCIA slot, 32-bit PC CardBus architecture;
One Smart Card slot;
One shared slot for Memory Stick®, Memory Stick PRO™, or Secure Digital (SD) card

And I will probably be getting a faster hard drive the the one it comes with, something like Seagate, Samsung, or Hitachi. (to be decided soon)
