Hiya, I was searching for the famous Ong Bak 2 movie of the world's best martial arts star TONY JAA.
I am his hardcore fan and wanted to watch the move with english subtitles, but i searched for one month and didn't get it.

Finally yesterday was my lucky day to download the high quality movie and watch it. Its really a awesome movie... !!!

Is anyone else pumped for the release of this. They are redoing so much and the game environment looks gorgeous. Very serene! Crafting system is going to be added, getting fid of the "mostly instanced" setup for something more effective. New combat system, etc. This game really is something to look out for.

I just finished watching the entire series in one straight binge this week, and I found it...good. Between the flat-out hilarity, the awesomely genuine characters, and the attention to even tiny continuity details it's just the best sitcom on TV right now bar none. Whats your favorite anime, and why?

My answer: Full Metal Alchemist. I watch more anime than you can poke a stick at, but when you find one that really sticks, all it takes is a brief moment of mind wandering to remember at least one thing about the anime that you really like, that got you hooked, and you can't deny its your favorite.
All it takes for me, when in doubt or wavering on the line of claiming a new favorite, I think of Ed, think of how short he is, start thinking of all the 'short' comments, and I'm gone, laughing my ass off.

Since we haven't incorporated audio into our submission system yet I figured I'd start a post telling you that if you would like ( and I would highly enjoy ) you can post any sort of music you have created on the web ( many sites where you can do this, tell me if you need a list ). After doing that, or if you already do this, you can post a link to it here in the music section to share it with the Artician community. Get you some exposure and feedback.

I know I've been gone a while ( and I'm sorry about that ) but after coming back and looking over the " Who's a musician and what do you play? " thread I thought it might be kinda neat to hear what you guys have done and been up to in the audio scene. Whether it's Club, Trance, Rock, DnB, Down-tempo or Hippity-Hop I want hear it. I'm sure others do too. Maybe we can even get big guy Eric to post a couple of his tracks. ( Yes he's a musician also in case you guys didn't know )

Kinda hoping to get this area of Artician kick started. Not really the functional system aspect but some sort of "core" of individuals to see how much interest we really have in the idea of creating an integrated audio community into Artician.

This babies going to be a sticky post so please if you have any idea's, questions or comments please share them.

If you have a track you would like to post, start a new thread and let us know it's a song you've created. Please do not post it in this thread. It will prevent us from being able to clearly direct comments or critiques towards it and/or it will get barried some where in the thread.

There are some good parts but most of the movie is just wacko because it's really gay like really really really gay. You'll get a few laughs bust mostly you'll think it's gay.

So I know there is a small controversy going on about how the movies have no plot, or do not compare to the original G1/Armada/etc series of yester-year. But I was wondering; just how many loyal fans still love the movie?

I love the acting.
I love the CG.
I love the cars, the over-all feel of the film itself.

Any Fringe Fans in the house?

The FBI teams up with a formerly-institutionalized scientist - who was performing experiments on the fringe of real science - and his son to investigate weird crimes that are seemingly part of a larger pattern, and may be connected with a global company called massive Dynamics.

I love this show very much! it is highly entertaining and the things J.J. Abrams adds to the show make it more amazing! I love the Observer, but my favorite character of all is Walter Bishop!

The show is very suspenseful, Entertaining, Smart, and funny at times. The show reminds me of The X-Files (but based on today)

If you have not seen Fringe and loved X-Files then you are missing out

Season 1 was the best of them all, Season 2 was alright, Season 3 not so good, but Season 4 is shaping up to be fantastic!

Buck 65 Canada's own little white boy rapper has been gaining so much status he now lives in France! With his eerie blend of spoken word poetry, beat boxing, his own scratching and sample making and story telling Buck will entertain and leave an impression on anyone with anything from Wicked and Weird a little bluegrassy to his angry 463 to his heart warming live performances especially Roses and bluejays.

Great Canadian Musicians

Finger 11 YES THEY BELONG TO US. Bwaha, I don't know any canadian musicain who hasn't partied with these guys. Gaining steam (finally) in the states for their already hit song here Paralyzer we know these guys by their old alias "the rainbow butt monkeys" back in the days One Thing and Drag You Down

Sam Roberts sure does look like Jesus! he entered on the scene and got a little play across the border with weird videos like Brother Down and catchy funny ones like Dont Walk away Eilien. He's now catching on fire with his huge hits The Gate and Bridge to Nowhere

Feist I have a love affair with this woman and you should all know it by now!!! The woman cleared out the junos and performed Sea Lion Woman but you might recognize her from all those commericals and an episode of sesame street featuring 1 2 3 4 of course she's been around forever with such hits as Mushaboom and One evening featuring good ol Buck 65.

Broken Social Scene did someone say 12 piece band?! These guys have featured Feist as well as many other canadian artist and have been compared to Pink Flloyd in terms of creativity. Matthew Good has been one of my obsessions forever. It's weird how some of his albums get tonnes of play in the US and others dont. You'll probably remember moving videos like Strange days and Apparitions and then rocking out songs like The Future is x-rated and Anti-pop Personally I LOVE the video for Load me up did i mention he signed my guitar?

The Tragically Hip have been around forever and I gurantee you... canadian or not your parents know all the words to Poets.

City and Colour Emo-esq heart throb Dallas got his start believe it or not in the screaming band Alexisonfire. Even if you aren't an emo music fan you can't help but be amazed at the creativity level in songs such as waiting. But be aware, these songs WILL make you sad

Metric who doesn't love Dead Disco? Metric also collaborate with a million other musicians to give you a killers esq sound with female vocals with kick ass songs such as Monster Hospital

The Stars are very unique in that almost every song is a duet. Be it a meeting of two ex-lovers in Your ex lover is dead their label arts and crafts might as well be watched all the time

Over the last year or so I've fallen in love all over again with my Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis to any Americans) and Dreamcast and have dusted them off and started collecting games for each console. So far I've 14 games for the MD and about the same for the DC. And you know what? I LOVE it! Even if they are technically obsolete systems by today's standards the games are just so much fun!

So I'm wondering if anyone here is into retro gaming or even have fond memories of playing games in times gone by.

Flight of the Conchords is a Grammy Award-winning New Zealand comedy duo composed of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Billing themselves as "Formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo a capella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo", the group uses a combination of witty observation, characterisation and acoustic folk guitars. The duo's comedy and music became the basis of a BBC radio series and then an American television series, which premiered in 2007, also called Flight of the Conchords.

They were named Best Alternative Comedy Act at the 2005 US Comedy Arts Festival and Best Newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and they received a nomination for the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2003. The duo's live performances have gained them a worldwide cult following.

'Blank' Premiers for free!

Times are certainly changing and slowly but surely people are beginning to realize that rather than trying to fight piracy and destroy file-sharing networks, the best approach is to embrace your one-time rivals and try and create something positive.

Established in 2000 by director Rick L. Winters, Annodam Productions is an independent film company. A forward looking outfit, Annodam will premiere its latest movie ‘Blank‘, worldwide today.

‘Blank’ is the story of a Johnny, a young boy who witnesses the violent death of his parents and older sister. Roll on some 20 years later and Johnny becomes involved in crime with his adoptive father - who is also a crime boss. While watching a game of poker Johnny discovers who murdered his family and sets about planning his revenge. Johnny unwittingly becomes involved with a pair of serial killers and the whole movie climaxes with a bizarre and shocking end.

While the plot may seems standard Hollywood fare, the way this movie has been financed and is set to be distributed is not - Director Rick L.Winters explains, “The thing that makes this film unique is that it is a co-op based concept where the entire cast and crew worked on a deferred percentage of the film’s gross. In other words, the cast and crew own a percentage of the film’s gross, so the profits are not going to Hollywood executives but instead into the pockets of the filmmakers themselves.”

After receiving several distribution offers for ‘Blank’, Rick turned them all down.

“I have seen firsthand the greed that lurks in the Hollywood corporate circles,” he said while explaining that after he released his first film, the cast and crew couldn’t understand why a distribution company was making all the money. So instead, Rick decided to let the audience distribute ‘Blank’ for him - via BitTorrent.

“This time around the fate of the cast and crew getting paid is in the hands of the audience who watch the film. No Hollywood bank accounts being filled to turn out more crappy remakes,” he said, while adding that the future of film is “in the home market, through peer to peer distribution.”

Today, ‘Blank’ is released on DVD for $14.99, via online streaming and of course, for free on BitTorrent. “No one should have to pay for a film they did not like,” says Rick. “No one should be denied the right to enjoy the art of film.”

The idea is that if people like the movie after they have seen it, they should go to the ‘Blank’ website and make a donation. People are asked to donate what they feel the movie is worth, and in return will be invited to follow the production of the next movie, which they will have helped finance through their donation.

Rick told TorrentFreak, “I am excited with the aspects of peer to peer distribution and the possibilities. Giving everyone the opportunity to see my film for free in hope of receiving donations is a little nerve wrecking - wondering if I will receive enough donations to make my next film. The concept is still scary for independent filmmakers who don’t have the big budgets like the big studios and most of the time drain their personal accounts and run up credit just to get their film made, in hopes of recouping the cost of making the film.”

Several large BitTorrent sites including Mininova will be offering ‘Blank’, but undoubtedly it will spread to many others too. Rick L. Winters is also writing a book which will document the whole process so that others can use the same methods to distribute their own movies.

“I can only hope for the success of this endeavor to show the world that the revolution of peer to peer distribution can no longer be ignored and the time is now,” Rick told TorrentFreak. “I decided to try the concept of a coop base film in hopes of encouraging other independent filmmakers to come together and create and share the art of film for EVERYONE to enjoy.”

Congratulations to Rick and the crew for effectively ending the piracy of their movies and we wish them the best of luck with ‘Blank’ and all future success.

The South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival is one of the largest and most popular in the United States. For the fifth year in a row, SXSW has released a DRM-free, RIAA-safe collection of songs totaling 6 GB, which can all be downloaded for free, thanks to BitTorrent.

sxsw 2009For some of the previous editions, SXSW itself has offered torrents showcasing the artists scheduled to perform at the festival. Starting last year, however, SXSW stopped releasing a torrent of their own.

Since all of the mp3s are available for download on the festival’s site, it only takes one person to get a torrent up and running. Last year it was Greg Hewgill who took the time and effort to put all the MP3s into one big torrent ( http://hewgill.com/sxsw/ ) , and for the 2009 edition Ben Stolt did the same ( http://sites.google.com/site/sxsw2009torrent/ ).

Since there’s over 6 GB of DRM-free music, using torrents makes it much easier than laboriously downloading every MP3 separately. In addition, using BitTorrent instead of the server based system saves SXSW money in bandwidth costs. The good news is that, for once, the RIAA isn’t watching over your shoulder when downloading music.

There are three torrents for the 23rd SXSW edition which contain a record breaking 1267 MP3s of both upcoming, as well as established artists who will appear at this year’s festival. Needless to say there should be something to suit everyone’s tastes, and all in all it’s a great way to expand your horizons and discover new and upcoming artists, all for free.

This year’s SXSW music festival takes place from March 18-22 in Austin Texas. All the tracks released for the previous editions are also still available for those people who want to fill up their iPod without having to invest thousands of dollars.

In the last few years I have been exposed to a world that I never thought existed.
But that's starting from the end.

There was once a time that hip-hop/rap was completely excised from my life. There had never been a single rapper or hip-hop artist that could make the genres appeal to me. Alongside of country, it was my least favorite genre - hearing about it, or catching a couple of notes emanating from passing cars was enough to to put my teeth on edge. It seemed to be an entire genre of hypocrisy and negativity, advancing ridiculous stereotypes and terrible ideals. Singing only of material, misogynistic, and violent things.

Then again - I had never heard any real stuff.

My exposure began due to my interest in electronic music - we're not talking "techno"...more along the lines of IDM, glitch, and breakcore. Groups like Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus, and some other Warp Records alums emerged onto my playlist, and that's when I heard them. On some of the tracks of my usual lyric-less music there were the amazing, poetic, metaphysical, and most of all conscious of the world around them.

It first stood out in the track Plastic by Prefuse 73. Went form there to Four Tet, Flying Lotus, Deltron 3030 and onward.
And then I found the glory of Anticon..

The sounds of Jel, Doseone, 13 & God, Why?, Sole, and Alias trickled over my eardrums, inspiring madness and imagination. Never before have I been so immersed in the wonder of the crazy poets that rock my mind.

So I started this thread to find new artists (by you recommending them), recommend ones to the people around, and generally spread the "gospel" of intelligent hip-hop. Because I know now I'm saved (lol).

People who 'hate' some kinds of music.

Look, I think everyone could like almost every genre of music, but it sometimes comes with a really long time adjusting to the sounds. Like, 2 years ago I wouldn've believed my ears if somebody told me the stuff I listen to nowadays. Probably mostly because of the lack of respect for other genres I had back then, but still, how come I've come to listen to the music I hated not a long time ago? I've began adapting to it. Do you really think I'd like this the first time hearing deathcore in my life?

I didn't think so, I started off with soft metal and rock like Linkin Park and slowly I built up to listening this heavy crap. It really annoys me when people can't understand it, for people just can't understand that I listen jazz, metal, deathcore, cheesy love-songs, blues, hardstyle, drumnbass, hiphop and rap all at the same time, well not at the same time but you know what I mean. Mostly because I don't dress like a rocker nor a rapper nor a cheesy love-songs kinda guy, I don't understand how people can be so dumb and ignorant to even hate other genres just because they don't know anything about them. For instance, watch that video, do you think that is cool music? Cause I do, but that's because I learned how to recognize the cool stuff in the songs. People maybe may not like the sound of somebody screaming very loud or grunting or whatever, of course, I can understand, but could people at least try to imagine that somebody'd like it. And it's not only with music, this is the main problem of MOSTLY the young society fights and bullying. Does anyone have anything to say about this? Cause when I think of it sometimes I get so annoyed I just wanna poo in my dog's basket.

You've GOTTA watch this one, it's with Seth Rogen again! And honestly, this made me laugh so hard I peed a little. Awesome movie to watch with your girlfriend, OR UPCOMING GIRLFRIEND and MAYBE that one girl-FRIEND who've you been planning to screw since the moment you guys met but she thought of you as a 'friend, well THAT CAN MAYBE ALL CHANGE AFTER THIS MOVIE, but I'm not sayin it's gonna happen pal...
The movie involves lots of funny jokes, drunken fat beardy guys, blondes with huge NEKKID cans, and love, one of the good romantic scene's you haven't been able to see in the past 3 years. OH, and of course black dudes being offended!
